The May 2016 Zambian inflation rate slightly went down to 21.3 percent as compared to the April 2016 Zambian annual inflation rate which was recorded at 21.8 percent.
The reduction in the annual inflation rate was mainly attributed to reduction in some food prices such as maize grain, bread and buns.
The Food and non-alcoholic beverage products accounted for 13.3 percent whereas non-food products accounted for 8.0 percent.
