When in Luanshya, would you like to have plenty of fresh air and water? Go to Makoma Dam. Indeed, after a hard days work or if you want to relax at the weekend, this is the place for you.
Makoma was man made; a result of the process of tailings
undertaken during the processing of copper in the old days when
Luanshya was at its height. And this place has been a crowd puller for
as long as I could remember.
It is not far off from the Luanshya town center, just about 8 km. So even if you don’t have your own car you can easily book a cab at a minimal cost.
As I have stated on other pages such on the Luanshya mine opened, I was living in this town before I left for greener pastures in 2000.
So I decided to pay a visit to this old town. Is the place still there? Yes it is!
