Livingstone Institute of Business And Engineering Studies (LIBES)

Livingstone Institute of Business And Engineering Studies (LIBES), as the name suggests, offers courses in business and engineering. Until recently, it used to be called the Livingstone Trades Training Institute (LTTI).



The Institute is aware that some students come from outside Livingstone and are therefore in need of accommodation. For these students, lodging facilities are offered.

The Institute offers the following courses:

  • Plumbing And Sheetmetal
  • Bricklaying And Plastering
  • Carpentry And Joinery 
  • Purchasing And Supply (CIPS 1 And 2)
  • Marketing –Diploma

However, apart from the above courses, LIBES also offers specially designed short courses to suit students' demands providing the best opportunities for success.

Entry Requirements To LIBES

For Plumbing and Sheetmetal, Bricklaying and Plastering and Carpentry and Joinery, a Grade 12 Certificate or Grade 9 Certificate is required. But a student with a grade 12 certificate will obtain a craft certificate and the one with a Grade 9 certificate will obtain a trade certificate.

CIPS 1 requirements are either a minimum of credits (or better) in 4 o’levels or 21 years of age with 2 years’ experience in Stores or Purchasing.

A Certificate in Purchasing and Supply is required for CIPS 2.

Requirements for the Diploma in Marketing course are a full Grade 12 Certificate including English and Mathematics.
