Ecobank Zambia, a public company, opened its doors to Zambia in the year 2009. The official name for the bank is Ecobank Transnational Inc. (ETI) and also known as Ecobank Transnational.

The head office is in Lome, Togo. The bank started as a group, a regional institution in West Africa in 1985. Ecobank is owned by more than 180,000 sharesholders, including institutional investors.
