Zambia being a landlocked country surrounded by eight nations has many Zambian Border Posts located along its geographical jurisdiction. The Chirundu Border Post is one of the busiest borders in the COMESA region and it is strategically located to provide a link between the North and the South.

The programme has enabled the regional economic communities of COMESA, the East African Community, SADC, their member states and the international community to implement an economic corridor-based approach reducing costs of cross border trade in sub-Saharan Africa.

The aim of creating the Border Post is to create high levels of economic growth, employment creation and ultimately reducing poverty, removing bottlenecks to trade and a reduction of trade costs between Zimbabwe and Zambian.

This means that all traffic into Zimbabwe stops at the Zimbabwean side of the border for all formalities while all Zambia-bound traffic stops at the Zambian side.

Victoria Falls Border Post

This is the Border Post via Livingstone at the Victoria Falls into Zimbabwe.

Nakonde Border Post

The Nakonde Border Post is found in Northern Province between Tanzania and Zambia through the Tunduma/Nakonde Border Post on the Great North road.

Namafulo Border Post

The Border Post is found between Zimbabwe and Zambia on Lake Kariba in Sinazongwe.

Kasumba Lesa Border

This is the Border Post between the Zambian Copperbelt and Katanga province in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).

Mokambo Border Post And Sakanya Border Post

Zambia has two other border posts with the DRC; the Mokambo Border Post near Mufulira and Sakania Border Gate near Ndola.

But these Border Posts are shunned because of the poor state of the roads from Mokambo and Sakania to Lubumbashi. The distance from the two Border Posts to Lubumbashi is almost double.
