You find the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the north, Tanzania to the north-east, Malawi to the east, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Botswana, and Namibia to the south, and Angola to the west.
Among the Zambia Border Posts you will find are Chirundu One Stop Border Post, Kasumba Lesa Border, Nakonde Border Post, Mokambo Border Post, Sakanya Border Post, Border Post via Kazungula near Livingstone into Botswana across the ferry, and Border Post into Malawi at Mwami Border.
Chirundu One-Stop Border Post
The Chirundu-One-Stop-Border-Post (OSBP) harmonizes border procedures between neighbouring countries at the border crossing points by incorporating all agencies involved.
The Chirundu Border Post is one of the busiest borders in the COMESA region and it is strategically located to provide a link between the North and the South.
The programme has enabled the regional economic communities of COMESA, the East African Community, SADC, their member states and the international community to implement an economic corridor-based approach reducing costs of cross border trade in sub-Saharan Africa.
The aim of creating the Border Post is to create high levels of economic growth, employment creation and ultimately reducing poverty, removing bottlenecks to trade and a reduction of trade costs between Zimbabwe and Zambia.
This means that all traffic into Zimbabwe stops at the Zimbabwean side of the border for all formalities while all Zambia-bound traffic stops at the Zambian side.

The new border facilities costing US$ 25 million were constructed by ZiBCC under the public-private partnership (PPP) frame work of Build Operate and Transfer whereby the company will run the facilities and handover to the government after 25 years.
ZiBCC started test runs on the facilities from 7th February 2011. Truckers are cleared within a day. On average, 200 to 300 trucks cross the border daily.
ZiBBC executive chairman Eitan Dvir commented on the Kasumbalesa facilities:
This project will result in improved monitoring and collection of customs duties and other fees applicable according to the laws of Zambia due to the introduction of proper office space for all government agents and more specifically, the operation of the new bridge and the x-ray machines.
Mokambo Border Post And Sakanya Border Post
