The Lusaka Nursing Institute opened its doors in 2005. It offers a three years diploma program in Registered Nursing. Plans are underway to introduce a program for the training of clinical officers.
The Nursing Institute is living up to its mission which is;
“To improve the standards of the nursing/clinical service and motivate the health care providers to provide a better compassionate care to the sick and community.’’
Aware of the daily changes that occur in the healthcare profession, the Institute’s lecturers are continuously being updated on the current trends.
The Institute is helping to meet the demand for medical professionals in the health sector. Since its inception, over a hundred students have successfully graduated and joined the nursing profession.
Upon completion, the graduates are employed by the Ministry of Health. The Institute is accredited with the General Nursing Council of Zambia.
Students come from all parts of Zambia including neighbouring countries. During the duration of their training, students are given access to health care facilities within Lusaka and nearby towns.
The Institute is on plot 28 in Villa Wanga, Avondale, off the Great East Road.
