Chaminuka Lodge

The Chaminuka Lodge has been built in the style of a Zambian village.

If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of town life, this is the place for you. It is here that you can come face-to-face with nature.

The lodge, which is also known as Chaminuka Private Game Reserve is the largest family owned lodge in Zambia.

Where found

Chaminuka Private Game Reserve is located in suburban Lusaka. It is only 25 minutes drive from Lusaka International Airport.

But if you are coming from Lusaka, you should move this way: Follow the Great East Road. Turn left at the Airport turn-off; pass through the independence arch, turn left at the ZASTI Base, on to the gravel track (7km to the Kasisi turn-off), turn left at the Kasisi Mission turn- off – 5km to t-junction, turn right at t-junction (15km to lodge)...and there you are!

Chaminuka

The Chaminuka gate is well sign-posted on the right hand side of the road.

It is set in the heart of Zambia’s largest private nature reserve. The Lodge offers luxurious accommodation, spectacular views over Lake Chitoka where you can behold the most glorious sunsets of Africa.

The lodge was a private reserve until 1998 when it was opened to the public.

Just like the village setup, it has a collection of African paintings and sculpture as well as traditional artifacts - numerous pieces which have been collected!

Yes, the place depicts how African life was lived in the past and you will be amazed by the collection which is found in all the surroundings of the place.

Chaminuka Game Reserve

It is not surprising that the whole estate was declared the Chaminuka Game Reserve. You will enjoy the indigenous Zambian forest.

The area is populated by species of Zambian animal life as well as different species of bird life.
