2011 Zambian Inflation Target Set At 7 Percent. Actual Was 7.2 Percent
According to the 2011 Zambian Budget speech of 2011, the 2011 Zambian inflation target was set at 7 percent.
Budget Verses Actual
Though the country projected the inflation target of 7 percent, the actual was 7.2 percent.
The country saw the inflation rate stand at 7 percent in From January 2011 to March 2011 mainly as are result of pumping in of K 1.3 trillion paid to farmers and the increasing of the price of fuel by more than 11percent.
Towards the end of the year the inflation started going down mainly again due to the reduction in price of fuel by the new president, Michael Sata.
The annual June 2011 Zambia inflation slightly increased to 9 percent from 8.9 percent recorded in May 2011 as a result of increases in some food prices.
